Feb 23: Consent and Boundaries Using Applied Improv Techniques by Prescott Gaylord

What does improv comedy have to do with consent and boundaries?  It turns out everything – and the common denominator is Communication.

Prescott will be facilitating a workshop that uses improv techniques to practice good communication around personal boundaries and consent. Attendees will be discussing how portrayals of intimacy in the media may have affected how they think about communication, and will practice techniques that empower them with communication tools. There will be some frank discussions about negotiating intimacy, societal assumptions and pressure, shame, and desires.

About Prescott Gaylord

Prescott Gaylord is the former Artistic Director of the Baltimore Improv Group, and creator of ‘The 4-Play Sex and Comedy Show’ which brings together sex experts and comedians to discuss modern topics in sexuality – which just had its Singapore debut in March. He has directed large and small scale improvised projects including, ‘Skinesthesia – Body Painted Improv’, ‘Improvised Burlesque’.   His shows have been featured in improv festivals in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Bethlehem, Washington DC, Austin, New York, Singapore, Shanghai, Manila, and Chicago.  He currently delivers an experiential workshop on intimate consent and boundaries using applied improv techniques, and can be seen in the local comedy scene with The Latecomers.
